What is the advance reservation period for booking a ticket train?
You can book a normal ticket before 120 days excluding the date of the journey.
How advance ticket date calculator works?
When you select the date, it calculates 120 days from the selected date and shows the date of booking on which you can book the ticket for the selected date.
Where can I book the train tickets?
You got two options; you can book a train ticket either online through the IRCTC website or PRS Counter.
What is the timing for booking an advance train ticket?
For E-Ticket, booking is permitted from 00:20 AM to 11:45 PM on all days of the week including Sundays. Service hours are subject to be change without any sort of prior notice. Opening day booking (Before 120 days excepting the journey date) will be available only after 8 AM for all classes. Please keep in mind; the advance-booking period for some intercity or daytime trains is still less than 60 days. In the case of E-Tickets, tatkal booking for AC class will start at 10 AM and for Non-AC class will start at 11 AM.
PRS or reservation counter is open from 08 AM to 8 PM for general bookings and from 10 AM to 10.30 AM for AC and 11 AM to 11.30 AM for Non-AC classes under tatkal bookings. On holidays and Sundays, it will remain open from 08.00 AM to 2.00 PM.
